About us
I’m Curtis Sweet. My wife, daughter, and I started Maine Marine Canvas after taking over the beautiful shop that was home to Mobile Marine Canvas for many years.
I lived in Maine for many years, having an airbrushing shop in OOB and the Maine Mall for over 15 years. My wife is from Brunswick, and much of her family still lives there.
After moving to Florida to thaw out, I began doing marine upholstery which I loved. I specialized in cushion work, and did some canvas work in Fl, but it’s built mostly for shade there, and the stuff I saw in Maine was what I wanted to do, that was the real deal where you had to have all the top skills. We still came to Maine every summer and 11 years ago I met Seth from Mobile Marine and have spent every summer working with him since then.
When Seth retired, we had the opportunity to open our own business and take over his shop, and come home to Maine.
Seth will be helping me as a consultant because of his vast knowledge of boats, design, and fabrication.
I’ve been self employed my whole life and know what it means to deliver what I’ve agreed on, on price and on time.
